BINTULU: Two Filipino workers drowned after falling into a water-filled palm oil storage tank at a factory in the Kidurong industrial zone yesterday.
The victims, identified as Jermie Onggolan Otat, 24, and Rudolfo Jr Bation, 30, fell into the tank, which was filled with water, while doing welding works.
A spokesman at the Bintulu Fire and Rescue station said firemen, who went to the scene after receiving a distress call at 9.16 pm, took about 15 minutes to remove the bodies from the tank.
The bodies had been sent to Bintulu Hospital for post mortem. – BERNAMA
