Brooke Dockyard gets top safety award

KUCHING: Brooke Dockyard and Engineering Works Corp has won the Gold Award from the Malaysian Occupational Safety and Health Professionals Association (Moshpa).
The Sarawak-based company won the top prize in the Fabrication of Structural Assemblies and Modules for the Oil and Gas Industries at the 10th annual Moshpa awards night on Sept 20.
“The evaluation was based on documentation, workplace inspection and employees’ interviews,” said a press release from Brooke Dockyard.
“Our company was the only one from Sarawak to receive the awards. In 2001 and 2002, Brooke Dockyard was awarded the Gold Safety Award and Merit Award by Petronas for the adoption and excellent implementation of contractor’s managements systems.”
Currently, Brooke Dockyard has in place the ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System since 1998 and OHSAS 18001:2007 OHS Management System by Sirim.
To date, the company has completed 18 offshore modules, 13 substructures and four living quarters.
“Recently, Brooke Dockyard completed its latest Engieering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) of South Acis Satelite (SA-SA) substructure for Murphy Sarawak Oil Corp,” added the release.
