Forensic Engineering was established on 16 April 2007.

Forensic Engineering Division provides specialized forensic engineering services to the investigating officers from the department's state offices for accident, dangerous occurrence and occupational diseases cases.

They comprises of Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Construction, Petrochemical, Occupational Hygiene, Testing Laboratory Sections.

Up to date, there is no testing laboratory for the division.

For the time being, all samples or evidences to be tested and analyzed are sent to government agencies such as Nuclear Agency Malaysia, Chemist Department and local universities.

Currently, there is no prescribed period and depends on the availability of the appointed agency as there are limited number of competent agencies in conducting the test
