The Occupational Safety and Health (Use and Standards of Exposure of Chemicals Hazardous to Health) Regulations (USECHH Regulations) came into force since 2000. The main provision in these regulations contains the assessment of health risks to chemicals hazardous to health.
The provisions of the USECHH Regulations require specific training including chemical hazard assessment methods, determination of adequacy of control measure, determination of chemical hazard, reclassification of chemicals and recommendations for action to be taken by employers. These elements are technical aspects that require specific training by training centres with highly knowledgeable trainers, quality training modules and in accordance with the provisions of the legislation in force.
Therefore, to ensure that the training standards provided by the training centre can be controlled and meet the objectives, recognition will be given to the training centre that meets the criteria set out in this guidance.
