Summary of Accident:
A store keeper was killed after falling into a goods hoist pit. During the incident, the victim was on the 3rd floor and was carrying goods onto the goods hoist. He was moving backwards towards the car cage when he fell into the pit. He had thought that the car cage of the goods hoist was already on the 3rd floor. The victim was rushed to the hospital but he died several hours later.
Contributing Factors :
The victim was carrying the goods and moving backwards as he had thought that the car cage of the goods hoist was already on the 3rd floor.
Results of Observation :
Lack of safe work procedures and proper supervision by the employer.
