Beam fell from an LRT construction site

In our standalone picture entitled “A Narrow Escape” on page eight yesterday, it was mistakenly stated that a steel beam from the Mass Rapid Transit construction site crashed on a car.
The caption should have read as the Light Rail Transit (LRT) construction site. The error is regretted.
Meanwhile, the project contractor, Trans Resources Corporation Sdn Bhd (TRC), expressed regret regarding the incident, which took place at Package A of the Kelana Jaya LRT extension project near the Glomac Business Centre.
TRC executive chairman Datuk Seri Sufri Mohd Zin said all necessary steps and precautions
had been taken to prevent such recurrence.
He said the company would prioritise to investigate the cause of the incident, while working closely with Syarikat Prasarana Negara Bhd and the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH).
“We will also abide by whatever advice and decision imposed by the authorities.”
DOSH yesterday issued a stop- work order against TRC.
